North Borneo: Driving to Kokol Hill - Temperate Highland (Bukit Kokol - Tempat Peranginan Menarik Bersuhu Sederhana)

From the seaside town Jesselton - Kota Kinabalu it takes you about 30 minutes drive with a truck grade vehicle uphill to Kokol Hill. Road surface is good. If you are one of the species that like to see places from a high point then this drive up should satisfies this liking.

A sunny midday temperature at a height of 800 meter is 18-24 degree Centigrade. Up here you tend to forget your dieting pledge because once up there your appetite for food turn to be really good. I mean you'll adding up extra plates of foods or extra slices for bread. 

[Di waktu tengah hari suhu ialah dari 18-24 darjah Celsius. ketinggian puncak Bukit Kokol ialah 800 meter. Selera makan bila berada di tempat ini macam bertambah baik. Boleh sahaja menghabis-licin tambahan pinggan makanan.]

There are enough lodgings and rest houses to stay over-nights or for lengthened stays. Meal matters are available because lodging  have their restaurants and canteens. Going down is of course quicker - 10-15 minutes drive.

Here you'll get the sound of the forest. Cool air, if you are lucky you'll experience the thick mist, so thick that you even unable to see your own feet, that envelopes and surround you. This is in the middle of the day.

Of course the nice scenery of the surrounding settlements, when the mist clears. On the way up you'll be able to see few buffaloes, owned by the natives Dusun, grazing freely along roadside grasses. 

[Apabila embun menghilang pemandangan penempatan sekeliling sangat indah sekali. Dalam perjalanan anda mungkin akan melihat kerbau-kerbau milik orang asli kaum Dusun, penduduk kampung, yang sedang meragut rumput di tepi jalan raya.]

The sunset is very beautiful from this hill. Most of the settlements in this forest and hills belong to the Orchard People (called Dusun People by the Malay) this are the Indigenous people of Borneo. Their houses built in their own orchards. 

[Pemandangan matahari ketika senja sangat indah begitu juga jika anda awal bangun untuk melihat matahari terbit di waktu subuh. Bagaimanapun anda boleh saja tidur sepanjang hari. Tidak perlu bangun.
